NEEDS PICTURES July 20, 2026: The One With The Bolo Ties

 Monday

P-DAY!!! We played Rage Cage with the greenies and it was honestly so fun! #tired

Tuesday
Weekly planning! The day was so hot, disgustingly hot. So many great lessons! Brother Litster bought us some gluten free muffin mixes, so good!

Wednesday
We pulled up to the church to do some studies and we ended up helping the elders with some service. We organized a huge storage container set to be donated. We got to rummage and find treasures to take home. We left with 2 blankets a sweater and a fun bag. 10/10. We also found a large bag filled with bolo ties! The elders drew lots and divided them out. At the end they had an odd number and let me and Sister Young have one! So now I am a proud owner of a bolo tie, lol.

Thursday
Exchanges with Hermana Hand! I absolutely love her! She is one transfer behind me. She is the biggest goof of them all. We found some cool people!

Friday
Nothing extraordinary today. Big event was we made cookies with Madie for her baptism! It's tomorrow!!! Ahhhh!!!

Saturday
Wow. Just, wow. The baptism was beautiful and lovely. The room was packed with members that had practically seen madie grow up. The room was filled with such a sweet spirit. Her brother had the privilege of baptizing her and her Dad confirmed her. Not a dry eye in sight.

Sunday
2 sacrament meeting!!! Eric finally pulled up to church!!! We have been meeting with him for months! Very exciting, and he loved it. Whoot whoot! We did our personal study on a blanket out in the park we call haunted dark park. It was beautiful and absolutely healing. The sun was shining and I really just felt so peaceful. 10/10

NEEDS PICTURES July 13, 2026: The One With The "Excellent boiled Potatoes"

 Monday

P-DAY!!!
We hiked up to the cross today! It was a tough hike. My legs were shaking near the end. No trees the entire hike so we basically cooked the entire time. But the pictures at the top #worthit
Brother Litster told us to stop by after our district council and pick up some leftovers. He is amazing. He also gave us 2 bags of potatoes!!!

Tuesday
Weekly planning! We had a fire lesson with Awal about the temple! He is preparing to go next month!!! So excited! Maddie is getting baptized next Saturday!!! She is so cool and so prepared!

Wednesday
People stood us up today but thats okay cuz Martin didn't! He is going to have to be passed off to the elders, he isn't YSA. But he is absolutely the sweetest! We met with Damon and we set a baptism date!!! August 2nd! Whoot whoot!

Thursday!
Fire lesson with Joseph! He has almost been baptized for a year! He has such a strong faith! Maddie is so prepared! We went over the baptism interview questions and set up her interview!!! Ended the night with the Reeders book of Mormon class, we are in Alma and everyone is dying, somber mood for sure.

Friday
Pass of lesson with our hindi family! Tragic. They are now baptized into the elders ward so they get to start teaching them. Sad but happy tears. God is good and they are all set to go to the temple tomorrow!!!

Saturday
Walk day, somebody kill me. I'm kidding of course, but it was brutal. Humidity sucks and it was a whopping 90 degrees. We walked for hours! Got lost only once. Fire lesson with Damon about the Plan of Salvation. Stopped by the Guidos for water and a bathroom. Then they all left and told us to stay in the ac and make our calls. Bless up. Brother Litster dropped by around dinner and gave us more potatoes (now we have 25) and a gluten free corn bread mix! 10/10, not as good as home made tho.

Sunday
3 sacraments! Whoot whoot! Last time with Rohit and Nepanshu, so sad. We talked with sister Bartholomew about how the temple went with the family! And God is good! They got to do some of brother Sharma's family names! Brother Sharma is from India as well, he was the one that baptized them!!! Such a sweet moment! They loved it and just felt so close to God!!! We had 3 dinners, so cool!】

NEEDS PICTURES July 6, 2026: The One With The Creepy Crawlies

 Monday

Worst. P-day. Ever.
Woke up to our floors covered in maggots. 10/10 would not recommend. We deep cleaned our apartment for 3 hours. How we got them, no clue. It looked like someone took a handful and scattered them all across the floors. We are pretty clean people. They haven't come back. Knocking on wood. RIP my cardigan.

Tuesday
Weekly planning! This week this took so long. But that's how it goes trying to teach someone something new and complicated. We had a 30 minute chunk of finding time and I was absolutely dreading it. Parking lot finding or as Hermana Barton says “Car Park finding”, lowkey makes me want to die. I hate it, I dread it. We were sitting in the car, I was trying to hype myself up. Brink of tears. I asked Sister Young to pray us into our finding time. And as she prayed I begged God for strength. I had to be a good example, I need to teach her how to find. I would have done almost anything else than get out of the car. But it turns out for her I am willing to do a lot. So the prayer ends, I take a deep breath and get out of the car. Immediately I spy a woman walking to her car. We aren't going to make it to her in time. Internally I am rejoicing. Then before she gets in she pulls her phone out and leans against the car. As if she is simply waiting for us to come talk to her. No longer rejoicing, I am now dying inside but I look at Sister Young and I ask if she wants to start or if I'm starting the contact. Blessedly she says she will. This Sister opens her mouth and asks the woman “ have you ever heard of Jesus." I'm thinking okay, interesting way to start, but at least something came out, at least she started talking. But this woman, she looks at us with so much love and joy and says back “ oh he is my everything.” Wendy proceeded to shower us with praise and love and joy. At that moment I knew God had seen us. He had seen me. He knew what I was giving him by getting out of that car. I was giving my everything, and in return he gave us Wendy. Is Wendy interested in coming to church? No. Does she want to learn more, no. But in that moment God knew we needed a loving mother figure to tell us how proud she was of us, how brave we were. The light of Christ shown through this woman. Anyway God is so aware of you. He hears our prayers. By the end of our conversation we had used up all of our finding time. God is good.

Wednesday
We went onto campus before a lesson, absolutely deserted. So we found a bench and proceeded to call people for like 40 minutes. We talked to 1 person, probably the only person on the whole campus, lol. Skylar and Elli took us to Chick-fil-A!

Thursday
Exchanges with Hermana Barton. I love her, she is from Sydney Australia! She has got the sickest accent. The day was a blast, she seriously is my favorite, it's a tragedy we will never be comps. Every lesson we planned that day tied so perfectly into questions our friends asked at the beginning of the lessons. Divinely inspired planning, God is good.

Friday
We met the new mission leaders!!! I absolutely adore them! President Contreras was a paramedic firefighter, he is my literal hero. They are honestly so funny!

Saturday
4th of July! So Hype! The Reeders had a big BBQ party and invited us for lunch! Then when we were leaving Sister Reeder said to come back at 6 and we could take the leftovers for dinner, lol. BBQ part 2! Curfew was moved to 7pm, kinda crazy. But we had a cool zoom meeting and then whatever time left we had in the day we got to call our family! So I spent my evening talking to the family and watching fireworks through my phone, 10/10, thanks mom. 😉

Sunday
So hype! Awal and Nepanshu got the priesthood and Priya is all set with her temple recommend!!! After church we had a break the fast meal, 10/10. They had so many cookies left over they told us to take them and give them to our friends. So we delivered cookies to some of our friends who could use a little bit of extra love. Breakfast for dinner with the Guidos! Good day.

 Monday

P-DAY!!!
We played card games and got to know our new district. I tried every flavor of life savor and I never want to eat another one. Fun facts they have like 12 now. I tried tzatziki sauce for the first time, basically glorified ranch. Im not sure if I like it…

Tuesday
Weekly planning!
Prepping for the most chaotic week of our lives.
We had a fire lesson with Tristan, he's so cool. He had some amazing questions and was excited to start reading the Book of Mormon. Then we had a glorious lesson with Maddie! She is getting baptized on the 18th!!! But ya God is good and so very real. During that lesson yours truly turned into a word wizard, straight poetry coming out of my mouth. #the gift of tongues

Wednesday
The Hollywood Bowl!!!
Wow, just wow. The music was beautiful and DONNY was glorious. We road with Theresa and we parked in the church parking lot and Uber'd over to the Bowl. 10/10
Then when we got back the parking lot gate was locked… so Ammon jumped the fence, lol. So ya what a night. We got home around 12am, lol

Thursday
We got to sleep in till 8am!!! Joy!
Then we drove to Thousand Oaks to hear words from an apostle of God! Gerald Caussé! I have shaken the hand of an apostle. Crazy. He spoke to us for about 2 hours, I was front row! I was no less than a foot away from this man. Star struck. Today was also the last day with our beautiful President and Hermana Rodriguez. Saying goodbuy was heartbreaking. They will be missed.

Friday
The watch party begins, we spent all day inviting people to come to the watch party. It was amazing! So many people pulled up, it was a stake wide thing so our whole zone pulled up. Very fun. I was most excited about the snow cones, very disappointed.

Saturday
God magnifying effort left and right. We spent so much time contacting people over the internet today. By the end of it I was ready to throw away my phone forever.

Sunday
A lovely day, 2 sacraments and 4 friends at church!!! Dinner with the Guidos, home made tacos! They love us. Last Zoom with President and Hermana Rodriguez. Sad days.
