It's been a long week.
This week was spring break so it was even more dead than last week.
But the work goes on, cuz it turns out not everyone and their dog leaves town. We met some cool people this week.
Monday
p day was fun. We got all our laundry done and went shopping. Then we got a Costco pizza and went to the church for our district activity. We played some games and then Sister Cox cut Elder Meckums hair. fyi she has never cut hair ever. so that was kinda funny. We went to the other district council that night because sister cox is the STL in our district. Elder Svedine, he has a wip he brings so after council it is fun to see him use it, i don't dare try it, im too afraid ill hit myself, lol. Sister Cox can kinda do it tho!
Tuesday
We weekly plan on Tuesday so that is kinda fun. I like to see all our friends written out on our white board. We spent some time down town which I love. There is a cutie little place outside some shops where we sit and do our companion study. yep very aesthetic and cute. We had dinner with April Dean, she is the 1st counselor's wife. It was so fun to hang out with her and chat.
Wednesday
We went down town again, so that was fun! ot a lot of success with inviting people to church, but we did meet Sam! He was so cool. He said he would come to church and we set up a meeting with him to tour the church!
Thursday
We went to the farmers market! It was crazy! There were so many people it was wild. CC took us to eat at a really good BBQ place! CC also took us to see the Moon tree! apparently the seed of the red wood was taken to space and the moon! Then it was given to the city as a gift. After CC left we walked around for a bit talking to people. There was a strange amount of people from BYUI that kept saying hi to us. so weird and fun to have random strangers call out to you like they know you! Near the end of the market we met Johnathan and Drew! They are brothers! They were boothing for their church and stopped us and asked us a whole lot of questions, we talked with them for way too long. they asked to exchange numbers cuz they had even more questions! We are excited to meet with them again. I'm not sure if this is actually going anywhere just because we were kinda just getting bashed but they are super nice so that's cool.
Friday
Echanges with Hermona Millard!! This was such a fun day! I let out the day cuz she came here and sister cox took her place in Paso for the day. The morning and afternoon were so slow, we ran into a total of like 4 people all morning and afternoon. Hermana Millard is so nice and fun, she has only been out for 2 transfers, she is so cute! Alyssa invited us to dinner that night and it turned into a girls night picnic! CC, Kelsey, Maddy also came! It was so fun we just pulled out blankets in the front yard! It was so fun to hear all the girl gossip, so fun! Near the end of the dinner we got a call. I was so nervous but I answered it and it was our friend Susie! she is going through it and sometimes she will call us when she is feeling super sad, this call was so amazing. i got to bear my testimony to this woman and lift her up. I have been having a hard time feeling the spirit, but let me tell you it was exhilarating! I felt like I would just run! This was probably the first moment I knew exactly why God needed me to be a missionary. i felt my purpose so strongly. That night got even better, we went to SloDoCo and did some study. We decided to get donuts, Hermana Millard and I are both gluten free! They have really great gluten free donuts. we ordered two and the guy said “ill add in a couple extra for the sisters” like what! he gave us a total of 5 donuts! and then he said it was all on him! 5 FREE DONUTES! so cool!
Saturday
This day really dragged on. We walked around a lot, inviting everyone we came across and not one was interested. We had two lessons and both of them did not show. That was a bummer. We had members in the lessons though so we got to talk to them and get to know them a little better. Our last event of the night was driving down to Cambria.
Sunday
Palm Sunday!!! such a good sacrament meeting! Our bishop read us the living christ piece by piece and we would listen to music or sing hymns in between segments. In ward council he said that he would like to invite one or two of us to share our testimony of the savior. He said he would invite us in the sacrament meeting and would be following the spirit into who he would invite. I had a super strong feeling this man was going to ask me to bear my testimony again. and he did. afterwards he thanked me for being so willing to share. He said when he told us that he would ask one of us when we were in the council he knew he would ask me, he just wanted to be sure at the moment. He is so cool. We had a ward Easter activity and it was so much fun! They had ham and potatoes and everything!
