Slaying the Day as a California Bae: Monday, April 6, 2026: The One Where She Survives the Reaping

Hi, hello. Gosh what a week!

moday

So fun! We did some shopping and then we headed over to District Activity. We played rage cage. If you have never heard of it, that's okay with me either. It involves drinking odd and sometimes horrid mixes of random drinks and sometimes spices and training to bounce a ping pong ball into cups. It was fun and very messy. I'm not sure if I like it or not. but it was fun to be with everyone.

tuesday

weekly planning! always good fun. We got to do our first round of service! We volunteered at a thrift store that one of our members' mothers volunteers at. It was honestly pretty fun! we had a pass off with the elders, she didn't show up but we got to talk to some other people that were around and that was fun. We also had a lesson with Izzy! she wanted to meet at Dutch Bros, it was cold and rainy so I got a cinnamon hot cocoa! It was a good, fun day!

wednesday

at the institute they always have waffles on wednesday! I sadly have to pass but I always leave with a spoon full of peanut butter! but no longer! They are truly the sweetest, they bought gluten free waffle mix! So that was a fun surprise! We had lunch with Kiana at In-n-Out! Very yummy and very messy. We found so many people today it was awesome! We had dinner at the institute and an amazing lesson with Devon! It was a really solid day!

Transfers!!! I survived the reaping, God has granted me another transfer in SLO! Sister cox did not, she informed to pack and be at the mission office at 2. It was sad to see her go. I got to spend the day in Santa Maria with a Spanish companionship! it was pretty fun, i felt a little useless because i dont speak spanish but as they talked to people it was cool to feel the spirit come into their conversations. They are on bikes so that was a trial. I was also not informed previously so I was in a skirt, lol. Fortunately the ride to their apartment was short and a previous Hermana had left behind some pants that fit pretty good, a little on the short side but hey pants are pants. The end of the day arrived and I got to meet Sister Waite! she is so cool we are going to have a blast this transfer. She is from Meridian Idaho! But no, she doesn't know any Petersons, lol.

I got bashed on, the worst one yet. He was just awful. Freaking Johnathan, he needed to swallow his spit, it was gross. He also was wearing dark sunglasses so I was looking into dark soulless eyes. The sun was in my face so I got to scowl at him while also smiling, lol. He kept trying to trap us in questions, I was not about to let him put words in my mouth. Ugh. I just kept thinking in my head what would Jesus do. And it sucked. Like he told us we were going to hell and as good as our intentions where we were dragging innocents with us. He told us if we denied our faith our families would hate us but God would embrace us. So ya absolutely stunning. Kinda sucked to be yelled at.

General Conference! Oh man, so good! We had our friend Larry come to the evening session! Larry is so cool, we don't know him super well yet but from what we do know, he is so cool, what a guy. Bishop Ririe and his wonderful wife fed us breakfast and lunch! Bishop Ririe is one of a kind. He is the sweetest most genuine man I have ever met. He radiates love. He really has saved my life. God knew I was going to need this man. He continues to lift me up and make me feel like what I do is enough and also valuable. He is truly an amazing human being.

General conference part 2! The Ririe again provided breakfast and lunch! We had our friend Devon join us!!! We had Dinner with the Holmes family! And Andrew and Maren were there! It was so fun and special to get to spend dinner with family! We ended the night with a zoom with the mission. We got to hear the testimonies of the new missionary! It was pretty cool to remember that that had been me 7 weeks ago.

I know I am right where God needs me, the way is hard and very difficult but will Him all things will prove possible in the end. I love my Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ. And tho we may doubt He does truly love us all. With Jesus on our side we can all be concoroues.
