Slaying the Day as a California Bae: Monday, March 9, 2026: The One Where She Walked a Lot

What a week!

Cal Ploy put on The Book of Mormon play! We have been prepping all week, we have been filling out pass along cards with our number on them. So many cards! Tuesday night was night one of two. It went well, lots of people took cards and lots of people didn't. We got some swear words, lots of “good for you”s but we talked to so many people and that was the goal.

We couldn't make it to night two because Sister Cox had to drive to Oxnard for MLC. And that means I went on my first exchange, you'll never believe who I ended up with for the day! Sister Gleason! She was my companion in the MTC, so that was kinda fun! The sun was so hot in Santa Maria, I got burnt, but only on one of my arms, lol.

We had dinner with the Kerrs which was amazing! Brother Kerr is the Stake patriarch, he was recently called and it was cool to hear some of his stories. His home was filled with God's love. It was really cool.

Saturday was the mission walk day! Every companionship walked around on Saturday. It was hot but we actually had a blast. We met a lot of people and I got to see around the city. SLO is so pretty.

Sienna is so cool, she came up to us last Sunday and asked that we teach her! How crazy is that? We were so excited! Our lesson had to wait until Saturday but it was a fantastic lesson. She has accepted the invitation to be baptized!!! Our lessons with her are always so cool, she always has the best questions and her acceptance and understanding is immaculate. Seriously coolest girl ever.

Devin is awesome! We have been teaching him for a couple weeks. He's on the fence about being baptized but he loves the members and the activitys. So lots of prayers.

Izzy is still on the path to baptism! She is so eager to learn and is so excited to be baptized.

This week was long but good. Lots of food and new friends, getting close to members and exploring the city. 10/10 week.
